We're here to help.
Answers to the questions we hear most, and a real person at the other end of an email when you need one.
Is LAM Companion free?
Yes, completely. Every feature is free for everyone: medication and trough tracking, daily check-ins, lung function, kidney monitoring, appointments and reports, and the emergency card. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and nothing locked away.
A small tip jar in Settings lets anyone who wants to support development do so. Tips never unlock anything, because nothing is locked.
Where is my data? Is it private?
Everything lives on your phone. There is no cloud service, no server, and no account, and the app collects nothing. The App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected." Data leaves your phone only when you choose to share it, as a CSV export, a PDF report, or the emergency card. The full story is in the privacy policy.
Does the app give medical advice?
No. LAM Companion is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device, and it was not developed by medical professionals. It records and organizes what you enter. It never diagnoses, never interprets your values, and never recommends treatment. Your healthcare team is always the place for medical decisions, and the app says so plainly the first time you open it.
What happens if I get a new phone or delete the app?
Your records are stored only in the app on your phone, so deleting the app deletes its data from that phone.
When you move to a new phone, setting it up from your old phone's standard backup (iCloud or computer) brings your records along like any other app's data. Exporting a CSV from Settings first gives you an extra copy that's entirely your own.
We can never recover data for you, because we never have a copy. That's the trade-off for an app that holds nothing about you.
How do reminders work?
The app can remind you about medication doses, a daily check-in, and upcoming appointments. Each kind of reminder has its own switch in Settings, and the daily check-in reminder stays off until you choose it.
Reminders are scheduled by iOS on your phone, and nothing is sent anywhere. If you miss one, the app carries on.
Can I share with my partner or family?
There's no account syncing between phones. That's part of keeping the app fully private. What you can share, whenever you choose, is the emergency card, the doctor-ready PDF report, and a full CSV export, using Apple's standard share sheet. Many partners keep a copy of the emergency card on their own phone.
Which devices does it support, and when can I get it?
LAM Companion is an iPhone app for iOS 17 and later. It isn't on the App Store just yet. This page will link to it the day it arrives.

[email protected]A note on what the app is: LAM Companion is a personal health tracker, not a medical device, and it was not developed by medical professionals. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always talk with your healthcare team about medical decisions. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
